Many times when people are shopping for a gift or a product for a special occasion… they need more than one item. For example, when shopping for a Valentine’s shirt, they may also need a matching bow or leggings. Or if they are buying a newborn gift, they may need a bodysuit, blanket, & burp cloth to make a complete set and ready-to-go gift. Most people like to one-stop shop when they aren’t buying for themselves, so this may be a market you’re missing out on if you only offer single products!
Try putting together 2 or 3 different “gift set” options for your shop! If you sell home decor signs, try pairing it with potpourri or a small faux houseplant. Or If you sell coffee mugs, try pairing with coffee and chocolate, or tea and bath salts. Water bottles? Pair with a gym towel and headbands. These little extra things may only add a few dollars to your cost, but will add a lot in perceived value and you can market that value in your pricing!
Here’s some ideas for themes that are hot areas:
Big/Little Brother/Sister Sets
Make sure to use key word terms like “gift set,” and “bundle” when appropriate. Also don’t forget to top off gift sets with gift wrap and personalized notes options! Possibly offer this as a free service and work the costs into your overall price. If someone is buying as a gift, the less work on their end is more incentive to buy!
Remember, it’s a “TRY IT” challenge. If you hate it, you can always take the listing down 🙂
